OpenStack CLI

python-openstackclient against Vietnix Cloud. Commands are grouped by resource; each page lists the common operations and flags.

• Install python-openstackclient
• OpenStack CLI configuration and authentication

For Vietnix Cloud, set:

export OS_AUTH_URL=https://api.vietnix.cloud/v3

Use an application credential for automation. The OpenStack documentation covers the remaining OS_* variables and clouds.yaml.

Command groups

• Compute: Server, Flavor, Image, Keypair
• Networking: Network, Subnet, Port, Router, Floating IP, Security group
• Storage: Volume, Snapshot

Notes

• Pass IDs, not names, in scripts.
• Public flavors have disk 0; boot from an nvmer3 volume.
• Ubuntu 24.04 images log in as cloud-user.
• 401: check OS_AUTH_URL, project, and domain. 403: check quota and policy.
