Deploy with AI on Vietnix Enterprise Cloud
AI assistants (also called AI agents) can do more than answer questions. Connected to Vietnix Enterprise Cloud, they can create the infrastructure you describe: VMs, volumes, networks, floating IPs, and security groups.
Claude, Cursor, and VS Code are examples. The assistant connects through an MCP server.
You → AI assistant → MCP server → Vietnix Enterprise Cloud
What AI can build
- Virtual machines — image, flavor, network, keypair, boot volume.
- Storage — volumes and snapshots.
- Networking — networks, subnets, floating IPs, security groups.
- Lifecycle — start, stop, resize, delete after confirmation.
Deploy a VM
Ask:
Create a VM named web-01 with Ubuntu 24.04, 4 GB RAM, and a 20 GB boot volume on my private network. Show me the plan and ask before creating.
The assistant checks the image, flavor, and network, shows the plan, and waits. After you approve, it creates the VM and returns the ID and status.
An image is the OS template, a flavor is the VM size, and a boot volume is its disk.
What you need
- A Vietnix Enterprise Cloud account.
- An application credential: a key that lets the assistant act in one project. Create one.
- An AI client that supports MCP, such as Claude, Cursor, or VS Code.
- An MCP server with write tools for the resources you want to create.
Connect through MCP
MCP is the standard that gives an AI client tools to call. The MCP server is the bridge to Vietnix Enterprise Cloud.
Use an existing OpenStack MCP server:
- python-openstackmcp-server — create, delete, and lifecycle tools; check boot-volume support.
- MCP-OpenStack-Ops — more tools; set
ALLOW_MODIFY_OPERATIONS=trueto enable writes.
For custom tools, build your own with the MCP Python SDK, MCP TypeScript SDK, or MCP specification.
Follow the server README to add it to your AI client. Boot-volume support and available tools depend on the server.
Prefer code or a terminal?
- API: for a portal, script, or internal tool. It is the same API the console uses. API docs, Authentication.
- CLI: for terminal commands and repeatable checks. CLI docs.
Good to know
- Ask for a plan before the assistant creates or changes anything.
- Approve create, stop, and delete explicitly.
- The credential works only in its project.
- Use
nvmer3for boot volumes.
